By the way, another entry we see on CV's that is not necessary: You do not need to put sex on it.
We constantly see Sex: Female
This is not necessary and should not be on a CV. If a facility is interested in your qualifications, they will find out what sex you are when speaking to you.

It is true the Pediatrics has become more difficult, but certainly not impossible. Our recommendation is to stay flexible as far as geographic location and job type and start early in your search.
You don't mention what type of fellowship that you are seeking. We have placed this year a Pedatric Cardiologist and a Pediatrician with a CC fellowship. Both did general pediatrics as well as some work in their fellowhips. They are both working in a great facility near a larger metropolitan area and are very happy....but it took time and is not an easy job search. Be realistic in your expectations.

The next couple of years look tight for pediatrics, but again there are opportunities out there and if you are a good fit will be considered.

Maybe others have their experiences that they can share with you, but that is our experience as a placement and recruiting agency that handles only J1 physicians.

We have come across one in particular. We obviously cant say, but is located in Providence. Be careful with any contract. Make sure that the local hospital is supporting the hire. In most cases, you will have to sign two contracts in this situation, one with the practice and one with the hospital.
We have dealt with this almost every year for the past 5, where someone inevitably goes and gets a contract in Providence and it turns out to be a nightmare situation.
Talk to people that are working there and also people that are working there no longer. Any reputable employer would give you contacts from people that used to work there.
And ask questions, questions, and questions. A contract is only as good as the person that writes it. 3 years is a long time to be stuck in a bad situation.

And always remember this - anything that sounds too good to be true, typically is and you should be cautious about.
